The Senior Product Marketing Specialist will report to the Director of Product Marketing within the broader corporate Marketing team. This role will lead the carrier marketing strategy and product marketing implementation with the Sales Leadership team, Product and external marketing agencies as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy – Develop and execute a comprehensive carrier marketing strategy that aligns with the overall marketing strategy and company objectives. Lead, mentor, and inspire the product marketing team to deliver high-impact results.
  • Positioning – Develop product positioning and ensure messaging differentiates products in the market. Develop carrier positioning and ensure messaging sets Consolidated apart from other providers. Help develop and maintain personas for the various types of carrier customers and help sales identify and build messaging appropriate for Consolidated’s carrier strategy.
  • Demand generation – Responsible for strategy and management of the marketing programs that drive demand for commercial products sold through the carrier sales team. Includes promotion of the Consolidated Communications brand and solutions portfolio to current and potential new carrier customers.
  • Retention – Work with the broader marketing team to build the strategy and management of the marketing programs that improve customer experience and loyalty and reduce churn. Includes promotions and marketing program implementation, and targets retention for carrier customers
  • Sales enablement – Communicate the value proposition of the products to the Consolidated carrier sales team and their customers, and ensure sales tools are in place that support the selling process. Support Sales in trade show and networking event strategy and execution, including development of pre-event material and post event follow-up.
  • Product / network launch – Ensure our customers and prospects are aware of new products, as well as product upgrades or changes. Activate customers with access to new information about on-net, near-net and off-net locations and planned new fiber build areas. Includes ongoing direct communications, as well as developing internal reference documents, customer collateral, email notifications and e-newsletter content, social media posts, etc.
  • Market profile – Serve as the expert on the carrier community, including how they select and position providers for potential sales. Interact with carrier customers at events. Garners input from carrier sales managers and the commercial sales leadership team.
  • Market intelligence – Maintain a thorough understanding of carrier market and key players. Identify opportunities and competitive threats. Develop strategies accordingly.

  • Product/network FAQs for carrier sales reps and customers

  • SEO-optimized website content, campaign landing pages
  • Market research, analysis
  • Event strategy, on-site brand presence/messaging and coordination support
  • Event booth presence
  • Integrated lead generation campaigns
  • Video content strategy and development oversight – training and lead generation purposes

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product marketing experience; telecom or business IT knowledge preferred with at least two years’ experience in a field facing role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications, technology, applications, marketplace.
  • Understanding of carrier customers (CLEC, ISP, Wireless, resellers), customer life cycle and related activities.
  • Worked in competitive environments in both large and small companies successfully.
  • Proven ability to create, implement and manage marketing programs.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Project status and timeline management
  • Ability to use analytics for decision-making and problem solving.
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams and third parties.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well and quickly under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent leadership, verbal & written communication and presentation skills. Work well with minimum supervision.

  • Solid business skills including writing, presentations, analysis and program development
  • “Sales as my customer” marketing focus and temperament
  • Proficient in Salesforce, Highspot, Pardot, Impartner PRM (or equivalent tools), Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel (pivot table skills preferred), PowerPoint, etc.
  • Willing to travel up to 15% of the time

Salary

Pay range (commensurate with skills and experience): $61,486 – $93,189
