POSITION OVERVIEW
We’re looking for a STRATEGIST of QUANTITATIVE MARKETING RESEARCH + STRATEGY. We have offices in Denver, CO, New York, NY or Chicago, IL and seek candidates within commuting distance to one of these offices. The successful applicant will have a demonstrable track record and a passion for finding and shaping actionable insights through expert quantitative data analysis. Candidates should be developing strategists with 2+ years of experience after graduation, with hands on primary marketing research experience (preferably within a brand or innovation strategy context) who are data savvy and growth minded.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Strategist will work as a part of the brand and innovation strategy teams to support primary quantitative research that advances our clients’ insight, brand strategy and innovation business goals. This position requires you to recognize patterns, connect dots and ultimately help develop the strategic vision underpinning each engagement. To be successful, this individual must be highly analytical, a self-starter, responsive, open and receptive to feedback, and have the ability to apply new learnings across multiple projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the research process from start to finish including the initial phases of developing surveys based on client objectives, testing programs, and managing fieldwork and vendors in conjunction with other Egg team members.
- Provide initial thinking and frameworks that can lead to the development of compelling, visual report narratives conducive to insightful brand, customer, and business strategies.
- Support analytic plan development and partner with the team on advanced analytics, (e.g., MaxDiff, factor analysis, cluster analysis, derived importance, choice modeling, etc.).
- Manage multiple projects on time and within budget while applying the full rigor of quantitative methods.
- Work collaboratively with senior Eggs and account leads to proactively advise clients, thinking a few steps ahead to anticipate needs, get ahead of any issues, and solve problems.
- Show calm, grit and tenacity when navigating through “grey” or difficult client experiences.
- Serve as an effective peer-to-peer collaborator with colleagues and a mentor to more junior strategists, growing in comfort and ability to provide and accept constructive criticism to improve performance.
- Contribute to proposals, case studies, project debriefs, onboarding and ongoing education initiatives.
EXPERIENCE BASE & SKILL SET
- Primary marketing research (experience in managing the full market research cycle including survey design; fieldwork and data management, data analysis, data interpretation, and development of recommendations; reporting and presenting)
- Quantitative methodologies (knowledge of and/or experience with a range of market research studies, such as: segmentation, brand equity, perceptual mapping, conjoint analysis, and concept testing)
- Analytical thinking (experience in and comfort with analyzing data and translating it into high-quality PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate the research finding, generating impactful consumer insights through data analysis and thought-provoking headlines)
- Strategic thinking (able to tie the research to the business of our clients and develop insights and implications that are relevant and actionable)
- Attention to detail (without losing sight of the big picture able to mind all the little stuff that has a huge impact on the overall experience and outcome of a project)
- Communications (exceptional listening skills; able to manage logistics, calendars and agendas that keep meetings and projects on time; able to interact and liaise effectively with clients and vendors)
- Commitment (ability to leverage your resources to navigate challenges, find solutions and ensure reliable results on time and on budget)
- Learning + application (can demonstrate basic concepts taught and/or guidance received is internalized and applied such that foundations are built which allow for more exposure to more complicated projects and greater responsibility/autonomous working)
In sum, we are looking for someone who is driven to take on new challenges and also has a keen interest in working with growth-oriented, fast-moving, and competitive clients who are leaders in dynamic and/or high-volume categories (e.g., consumer packaged goods, supplements, beverage, beer, spirits, restaurants, retail, fashion, finance, entertainment, pharma, biotech, etc.). The hiring range for this position is $55,000 – $75,000 depending on location and level of experience. If this sounds like you, please apply.
