Role Overview

You would be part of Tide Rock’s growth team that provides marketing and sales support to our portfolio companies. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented, creative, flexible, and agile marketing thinker and content creator with a proven history of turning a brand vision into a reality. You excel at marketing strategy, creation, implementation, project management, creative processes, analyzing, and solving complex problems. While creative at your core, you also understand the need to enhance market and customer understanding of our products and services and the unique value propositions they have, and to utilize sales tools to support customer acquisition. You are a positive person who works well with others and can collaborate closely with the Chief Marketing Officer, the marketing team, and external contractors.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategy

  • Partner with CMO, as well as marketing and sales teams, to develop and optimize lead qualification process, analyze and report on campaign performances with reporting and dashboards.
  • Assist with customer segmentation, market share, and whitespace analysis, and help create a plan to enhance retention and upsell/cross-sell initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations and take actions based on strategic objectives, forecasts, or performance metrics.

Operations

  • Work with VP of Sales at portfolio companies to track the sales funnel and operational metrics and deliver regular insights to the business, including:
  • Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, templates, and relevant sales training materials and assist with onboarding new talent.
  • Identify and eliminate sales process bottlenecks and inconsistencies and enhance productivity by simplifying processes and improving the playbook.

Content

  • Create and execute the content strategy to drive business goals and project objectives. Develop and implement clear and engaging content that is consistent with the company’s value propositions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the target audience of each portfolio company by conducting market research, meeting with internal teams, interviewing customers, and leveraging trends.
  • Develop sales collateral, including brochures and presentations.
  • Ideate, write, and edit effective campaigns and newsletters, website content development

Analytics tracking:

  • Prioritize optimization of marketing campaigns and activities to achieve KPIs
  • KPI performance reporting to portfolio company leadership
  • Familiarity with metrics and tools

Tools

  • Comfortable working with tools and technology, especially with marketing and sales-related tools
  • Generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT)
  • Website (e.g., WordPress)
  • Template creation and alteration (e.g., Canva, Adobe Illustrator)
  • Social media creation and scheduling (e.g., Hootsuite, Cloud Campaign)
  • CRM (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Email automation (e.g., Hubspot)

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, Business, or other related fields
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in B2B marketing (be prepared to give examples)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong task management and organizational skills
  • Ability to self-manage with proven accountability in meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Excellent coordination and teamwork capabilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Teams & Sharepoint

Pay range in San Diego, CA

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Base salary

$65,000/yr – $75,000/yr
