Marketing Specialist

About The Role We’re looking for an energetic, hard-working Marketing Specialist to join our fast-paced, growing team. The Marketing Specialist is the glue that holds projects together and serves as the face of the marketing and communications department across History Factory’s teams. This is an internal company role that will manage the planning and tactical implementation of assigned programs as well as manage History Factory relationships relative to those programs. This role works in close collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications and/or management team but may lead to running projects independently. The Marketing Specialist will serve as a primary day-to-day contact with the History Factory team. This job is in-person or remote with occasional travel. What You’ll Bring to this Role: Content Marketing Provide copywriting and copy editing for a variety of platforms – social posts, blog posts, email marketing, newsletters – and aligning and making recommendations to the editorial content calendar. Support the development of an editorial calendar for 2023 and beyond, with the Director Identify any industry trends or issues where we need a POV, and support producing thought pieces or actions to address. General Marketing Take the lead on social media community management, identifying key influencers in the market to engage with History Factory content based on 2023 editorial calendar Take a proactive stance towards marketing our business, and highlight areas we can improve or new ideas we can try. Understand changes/trends in our industry and discuss with the Director opportunities/threats that these could pose Have a working knowledge of all aspects of the marketing mix, particularly SEO, SEM, One-on-one communications (email), social, digital media, PR Project Management Take ownership of various projects, and ensure their delivery – on brief, on time, and on budget. These projects will mainly involve innovative uses of content, including (but not limited to):; social posts across LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter; sales collateral; digital advertising; video assets; blog posts. Prepare and brief creative teams and other external resources as needed for successful project completion. Must know how to write a compelling, succinct brief for creatives. Tools & Analysis Manage an easy-to-understand, insightful digital marketing dashboard. Use data from the SEO agency plus GA and email deployment data to prepare and deliver on a fixed monthly basis, so we can track all email, social, website metrics, and resulting leads. Interpret performance of SEO, SEM, email campaigns based on data supplied Basic design and video editing capabilities using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools. Understanding of podcast publishing and promotion tools such as Soundcloud and Headliner Knowledge of WordPress, basic HTML, and Google Analytics. Working knowledge of PM/CRM tools – Monday, HubSpot, Sprout Social etc. Who You Are Driven. You are motivated by clear goals and know your success is critical to the business’s success. Outgoing. Employee is not exposed to weather conditions and noise level in work area is minimal. Must be able to lift and carry a forty-pound box, climb a ladder to retrieve materials, and work in environments which may contain dust and mold.
