Job Description
The Marketing Manager brings the Girl Scout brand to life by overseeing all phases of the council’s integrated marketing plan through the development of messaging and content and by disseminating it through multiple digital media platforms. This position supports multiple public relations efforts with competing and/or changing timelines including the creation of the council’s social media, advertising, promotions, and email marketing campaigns with the goals of increasing membership and program participation, increasing the council’s visibility in the community, engaging donors, and providing support and critical information to members, volunteers, and potential supporters. The Marketing Manager serves as the primary expert regarding the data and analytics of the various marketing efforts and makes recommendations to the CMCO regarding digital media strategy. The Marketing Manager also provides direction and oversight to the council’s graphic designer.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Collaborates with the CMCO on developing a fully integrated marketing communications plan for the council, identifying underserved audience segments in order to foster engagement.
- Serves as the primary digital marketing content creator including crafting the message and adding visuals (e.g., graphics, photography, video, etc.) and other content as needed for promotional copy, social posts, marketing emails, and advertisements.
- Leverages support and toolkits from Girl Scouts of the USA for brand knowledge and consistency, national messaging, and communications alignment.
- Oversees budgeting for creative efforts including all printed collateral, traditional advertising, and branded collateral as directed by the CMCO.
- Educates members of the community and staff regarding use of technology as needed.
- Oversees graphic design and approves council marketing publications and collateral, ensuring timeliness and proper spelling and grammar.
- Develops and employs a research-based data-driven strategy to advance the council’s marketing goals through organic and paid media placements.
- Develops professional and strategic relationships with media advertising account managers, key communicators, and social media influencers.
- Develops and executes an annual email campaign strategy, including creating content and distribution for targeted emails to members.
- Serves as the primary architect of effective social media campaigns and the corresponding annual social media calendar across the council’s digital media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X).
- Compiles, writes content, designs graphics, and disseminates regular social posts to ensure up-to-date and relevant information reaches various audiences and drives desired results.
- Provides customer support for issues and interactions on social media while always maintaining a customer-centric approach.
- Maintains a social media database for the council and its related accounts—including login/password and administration information—and facilitates access to those accounts.
- Collaborates with the Customer Care Team and Membership Department to create lead generation campaigns to gage the effectiveness of various promotional efforts.
- Facilitates video editing for recruitment and retention initiatives, in addition to researching current video marketing trends and designing creative video-based story-boards for general branding.
- Researches, evaluates, and reports analytics generated from all forms of stakeholder engagement (e.g., social media, advertising, media impressions, email campaigns, etc.) and recommends tactics for optimization and continuous improvement.
- Evaluates trends and keeps up-to-date with the latest creative digital communications industry techniques to ensure the council remains relevant to its audiences.

Requirements:
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, social media management, or related field or 5+ years of directly-related work experience.
- Experience in graphic design, photography, and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud desired, but not required.
- Proficiency in using various software platforms for social media management, photography, videography and analytics.
- Engaging and clear communication style, verbal and written. Bilingual a plus.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing and/or changing timelines.
- Ability to build professional relationships with the media, influencers, council staff, and volunteers.
