The Marketing Director, Account Management is responsible for managing a team of account managers who serve as the client facing point of contact representing the entire range of company marketing products and services to our assigned portfolio of properties. This person is responsible for leading the client’s account planning cycle and ensuring assigned clients” needs and expectations are met in a way that represents the company and provides a positive client experience.

This person is responsible for leading the client’s account planning cycle and ensuring assigned clients’ needs and expectations are met in a way that represents the company and provides a positive client experience.
The Marketing Director, Account Management is responsible for driving maximum lead generation and interest in the property through proactive recommendations, alignment with ownership and operations, and with an ongoing lens of strategic marketing expertise and fiscal responsibility. This person drives the direction, strategy and execution of a team of associates who are responsible for successful management of a portfolio of properties, portfolio of lease-ups, advisory services requirements, acquisitions and dispositions. They are also responsible for ensuring work direction is clear and flows seamlessly in collaboration with our other marketing departments. The Marketing Director, Account Management leads a team that must serve as trusted advisors and establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned client accounts, within the Bell Partners, Inc. organization, industry vendors, ownership groups and their stakeholders and work with an urgency to continuously elevate our quality of marketing support.
This position reports into the Vice President, Marketing.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Oversee the Marketing Client Account Managers (CAMs) to ensure a strong knowledge of property portfolio including objectives, goals, features, amenities, demographics, neighborhood, comps, etc. are known and socialized
- Ensure CAMs stay on the pulse of industry trends, demographic trends specific to various regions and geographies
- Advise on the strategy to ensure successful and productive client discovery meetings and identify objectives; Prepare long-term and short-term goals with timelines, benchmarks and KPIs
- Responsible for the overall success of the CAMs as they develop, own and manage the marketing strategy for each property in their portfolio and serve as the lead to execute the plan
- Oversee and advise a productive and strategic lease-up strategy and execution
- Oversee the marketing transition process to ensure the team is executing with an optimal level of efficiency to ensure transitions are executed successfully from beginning to end with a seamless handoff to internal or external stakeholders
- Own the account management corporate budget items, spend and ensure the team is performing to budget
- Support the CAMs in ensuring successful property-level budget recommendations, spend and budget optimization
- Own capacity planning, work volume and prioritization of the team’s workload
- Drive the proactive and strategic approach to assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis, and course correct as needed with a goal of stabilizing assets
- Develop, own, and execute against SLAs to support the full portfolio
- Build trusted and long-term relationships with internal and external clients and industry partners
- Own the strategic direction and decisions of the team
- Develop strong, impactful working relationships with other marketing directors to ensure continuity of workflow, develop processes, solve problems, and implement new technologies all with the spirit of always wanting to elevate our quality of work
- Serve as a strategic partner when collaborating with operations in building viable marketing budgets through recommendations that align with the ownership’s vision but also supports a successful marketing program
- Provide clear, comprehensive, and relevant communications to all stakeholders on a regular basis, including but not limited to quarterly operation marketing initiatives reviews, major projects and initiatives, and corporate goals
- Oversee the support for business development pitches, including developing recommendations, strategy, budget, and timelines and participate in business development pitches, as needed, and serve as the subject matter marketing expert representing the marketing team
- Ability to collect large volume of information from multiple sources and develop a consolidated, strategic recommendation with sharp acumen towards using data to build business cases
- Responsible for the team managing marketing help desk against our marketing SLAs, charge backs, timely invoice processing, Bell’s media management system, the marketing project management system, and any other administrative responsibilities to maintain the health of the marketing team
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Minimum seven (7+) years of experience in Marketing-related role in account management, client management, marketing agency, and/or portfolio management
- Experience with agile project management approach and confidence in leading projects and managing teams
- Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
- Understanding customer lifecycle and marketing
- Business maturity and acumen
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Experience and comfort in manage executive-level conversations and in persuasive conversations
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
- Impeccable problem-solving skills and an aptitude to strategically think and execute
- Experienced, strong, inspirational and fair leader of people to support in their professional development and hold the team accountable for performance
- Can demonstrate a positive attitude and eagerness to tackle the job and has a collaborative approach to working with others
- Multi-family industry experience is a plus, particularly with marketing technology innovations, but not a requirement
Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $140,000.00 – $150,000.00
Incentive compensation opportunities are available and are performance based.
