About the job

Corkyy is helping an important Austin institution hire for a critical Marketing role…

Our client is a high profile Foundation based in Austin. This organization is both a respected historic landmark and center for critical national policy education and thought leadership. The associated Library and Museum attract a lot of attention and tourism throughout the year.

They have a small marketing group, which is primarily being run by a resourceful and creative Social Media Manager. The high-visibility nature of the institution and a lot of their programming means they need to bolster their marketing and promotion efforts, so they are seeking a Marketing Consultant to help mentor, assist, and guide the SMM in their efforts to raise the visibility of the institution and its programs.

Though this is a historical and education center, while interest in nonprofits is worth noting, they are eager to consider folks who have a breadth of experience in a variety of sectors… as long as they have experience marketing/promoting in-person programs.

In our client’s words…

Looking for a marketing consultant who will take on a mentorship role with current Social Media Manager to provide comprehensive marketing training and offer invaluable insights from their experience. The general goal of the consultant should be to refine marketing skills, provide advice on strategies, act as a sounding board for new ideas, and connect the SMM with valuable industry networks enabling the client to navigate complex marketing challenges with greater confidence.

The Consultant Will Help Identify, Plan, And Coordinate Strategies For The Various Initiatives And Events Under The Purview Of The SMM. The Consultant Will Work To Integrate And Improve Current Social Media Strategies Into Broader Marketing Campaigns. The Marketing Consultant Should Have At Least 15+ Years In The Industry Who Can Offer The Following

  • Help develop effective marketing strategies aligned with goals.
  • Identify specific skills to develop and provide tailored guidance on how to acquire them, including traditional and digital marketing, content creation and placement, campaign management, and analytics.
  • Offer constructive feedback to help improve and sustain work.

Experience with museums and/or in-person programs preferred. Interest in history and experience with nonprofits is beneficial.

Rate: $150-$250/Hr

Obligation: 5-10 hours per week
