Job Description

University of Utah Health is seeking a talented and experienced Marketing Specialist with a strong background in the health care industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to promote our health care services, products, and programs. This role requires a deep understanding of health care, industry trends, and effective marketing practices.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth market research to understand the needs, preferences, and behaviors of our target audience within the healthcare sector.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans and strategies tailored to the health care industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including MarCom team, health care professionals, and clients, to ensure alignment of marketing efforts with organizational goals.
  • Create and manage marketing campaigns and projects across various channels, including digital marketing, content marketing, social media, and traditional advertising.
  • Ensure all marketing materials and activities comply with relevant health care regulations and industry standards, such as HIPAA.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns, providing regular reports and recommendations for optimization.
  • Collaborate with health care professionals to communicate medical information accurately and effectively to our target audience.
  • Developing and executing social media strategies, creating, and sharing engaging content, optimizing company pages, moderating user-generated content, analyzing social data, and collaborating with other departments to manage reputation and coordinate actions.
  • Oversee and develop the creation of marketing materials, including brochures, websites, blog posts, videos, and other promotional content.
  • Manages marketing-related projects from beginning to end; develops and adheres to project timelines.
  • Tracks spend related to marketing efforts, allocating resources efficiently and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain and enhance the organization’s brand reputation and presence in the health care market.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree English, Journalism, Communications, or related field plus 3 years of related experience, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills; familiarity with a variety of computer software; project management and strong interpersonal skills; ability to work both individually and in a team setting.

Some areas may require additional experience with specific computer systems and may require skills in interviewing, ad copy writing, editing, photography, web writing, graphic design, audio & video production, and oral presentation.

Master’s degree in a related field may be preferred.

Preferences

  • Some areas may require additional experience with specific computer systems and may require skills in project management, interviewing, ad copy writing, editing, photography, web writing, graphic design, audio & video production, and oral presentation.
  • Proficiency in marketing tools and platforms preferred, including those for social media management, web and customer analytics, customer relationship management (CRM), content management system (CMS), and creative production.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with health care professionals and cross-functional teams.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
