Job Description

The Marketing Associate II is responsible for providing professional support and/or leading the development, execution and evaluation of initiatives, programs, projects, and work-plans as assigned, by evaluating the effectiveness of projects/plans/programs/initiatives after implementation; assisting in compiling and analyzing feedback from various internal areas and outside vendors, developing recommendations as appropriate and incorporating changes into future plans that will drive and support customer strategy formation and business decisions.

Requires experienced, conceptual and practical knowledge within Marketing and knowledge of broader related areas
Accountable for own work and sometimes others; acts as an escalation point or knowledge resource for others in their own area
Leads projects or work streams within broader projects with moderate risk and may be accountable for ongoing activities, processes and functional programs
Works within broad guidelines/policies and independently performs tasks from end to end
Solves moderately complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions
Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
Conveys business context when providing guidance within field of specialty to internal or external stakeholders
Work is performed under minimal management guidance and supervision
Identifies and leads problem resolution

Education & Experience

Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required
3+ years relevant experience
Solid knowledge of multiple marketing disciplines, strategy development, consulting principles, lines of businesses supported, banking industry, and product/customer markets
Solid knowledge of customer and brand research techniques and ability to develop analyses that will drive customer strategy formation and business decisions
Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends
Knowledge of risk management environment, standards and regulations
Knowledge of project/program support, planning and implementation
Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships
Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques
Skill in using computer applications including MS Office
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Customer Accountabilities

Provides professional support in the design, development and execution of marketing solutions/initiatives/programs/projects applying industry, external, internal, enterprise and business awareness
Monitors and understands trends, identifies issues and opportunities and provides recommended action to appropriate stakeholders
Gathers and integrates information and research to support the development/evaluation of insights, strategies, marketing solutions, etc.
Supports and may lead the delivery of initiatives/plans/campaigns in alignment of the overall business/marketing strategy
Provides marketing knowledge and/or input to projects/plans, and where necessary participates in identifying and designing solutions
Supports, and for less complex projects may lead, the creation of plans/solutions, adding ideas from research and other team members/subject matter experts and ensuring that client issues, concerns and priorities are identified
Assists with client/stakeholder meetings, determining needs and requirements, generating ideas and formulating plans
May actively participate in the development of marketing materials/creative briefs
Participates in evaluating the effectiveness of projects/plans/programs/initiatives after implementation; assists in compiling and analyzing feedback from various internal areas and outside vendors, develops recommendations as appropriate and incorporates changes into future plans
May serve as the Marketing contact for various initiatives/activities
May maintain appropriate project records, databases and information; reports to management and others on project status and updates
Understands the functions, intricacies and requirements of the respective product(s) or business line(s) supported
Supports or manages the integrated implementation of work activities/policies/processes/procedures/changes across multiple functional areas

Conducts internal and external research projects; supports the development/delivery of presentations/communications to management or broader audience
Conducts reporting and/or meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs/policies/practices
Monitors service, productivity and assesses efficiency levels within own function and implements continuous process/performance improvements where opportunities exist
Acquires and applies expertise in the discipline, provides guidance, assistance and direction to others
Identifies, recommends and effectively executes standard practices applicable to the discipline
Adheres to internal policies/procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines
Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assesses potential impacts
Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
May lead work streams by acting as a project lead for small scale projects/initiatives in accordance with project management methodologies
