Job Summary:

The Manager of Performance Marketing will work closely with the Senior Director of Acquisition Marketing optimize Mercer Advisors’ performance marketing efforts to deliver its ambitious client acquisition goals. Mercer Advisors is uniquely positioned within the RIA space to be an industry leader in performance marketing, and this Manager will play a crucial role in driving and executing Mercer Advisors’ performance marketing strategy. The Manager of Performance Marketing will spearhead strategic planning and daily execution and develop a test-and-learn culture.

The Manager of Performance Marketing must have a proven track record of efficiently acquiring customers at scale, preferably in a lead generation and consultative selling environment. Candidates should have experience developing marketing strategies, working with marketing automation platforms, and overseeing a digital agency. The ideal candidate will also have experience in non-digital channels (such as direct mail).

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Support performance marketing strategy

  • Support the multi-channel Performance Marketing strategy (including, but not limited to SEM, paid social, SEO, digital display and video, audio, direct mail) to maximize new client acquisition and revenue growth
  • Drive performance media planning, budgeting, and allocation to maximize ROI

Test and optimize

  • Drive rapid testing to optimize key KPIs and oversee testing roadmap across key levers including account structure, audiences, bidding/ budgeting, creative, and landing page optimization
  • Optimize campaign performance based on data-driven insights, identify marketing performance issues and drive solutions
  • Continually monitor the market to understand best practices and surface new testing opportunities

Manage and Execute

  • Manage day to day operations with agency partners and/or in-house teams to execute on strategy with scale, rigor and efficiency
  • Execute internal processes including billing, account QA, and setting up audiences and tracking for campaigns

Partner cross-functionally

  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing analytics to help optimize the marketing funnel
  • Partner with creative teams to develop assets for performance marketing campaigns, following channel best practices

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 5+ years of performance marketing experience, ideally with agency experience within financial services and/or industries with a multi-step sales funnel (i.e., lead generation via marketing to sales close).
  • Expert knowledge of marketing principles from media planning and optimization, messaging, analytics, and martech.
  • High degree of hands-on keyboard proficiency and expertise within media buying platforms (e.g., Google, Meta, LinkedIn), SEO tools, Adobe Analytics, social media platforms, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, MS Office, and the ability to grasp new software.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing audiences leveraging 1PD and 3PD
  • Very strong analytical problem-solving skills, and data-driven decision making. Understanding of digital marketing measurement including A/B testing, incrementality testing, multi-touch attribution, and mix modeling.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under all circumstances and possess executive presence with senior leaders across the organization.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deliverables.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM

Working Conditions: Professional office environment. Working inside. Standing and sitting. Will be assigned to a workstation. No heavy lifting over 20 lbs.
