Job Description
University of Utah Health is seeking a talented and experienced Marketing Manager with a strong background in the health care industry to join our team. This role requires a deep understanding of health care, industry trends, and effective marketing practices. The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and executing comprehensive marketing strategies and campaigns to promote assigned health care categories, services, products, and programs. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including clinical staff, enterprise and decentralized MarCom team members, external vendors and others to drive awareness, conversions, and growth.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Marketing Strategies:
- Create and execute marketing plans aligned with organizational goals and objectives, including Strategy 2030 plans and other enterprise clinical objectives.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, customer segmentation, and persona development to inform marketing strategies by leveraging a variety of internal and external data sources,.
- Act as a strategic partner, advisor, and consultant to distributed marketing team members on best practices and resources.
Content Development and Distribution:
- Oversee and assist in the creation of compelling campaigns and content that include web, digital, print, and video content, blog posts, and promotional materials.
- Make recommendations to channel mix, content development, and distribution methods to achieve maximum impact using social media, email, SEO/SEM, traditional media, website, and other owned and non-owned platforms.
- Optimize website content for user experience and search engine visibility.
Brand Management:
- Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all marketing materials and channels.
- Monitor and maintain brand reputation and integrity.
- Ensures the University’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion is represented in marketing outputs.
Campaign Management:
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns, including product launches, awareness initiatives, and promotions.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to achieve awareness, growth, and conversion goals.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including clinical staff, service line leadership, MarCom team, strategy department, and others to align marketing efforts with business objectives.
- Builds reports and presentations for use in meetings with leaders, cross-functional team members, and other key stakeholders that feature impacts of marketing efforts on stated business objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, agencies, and vendors.
- Facilitates cooperative and collaborative community and institutional relationships
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
- Ensure all marketing activities adhere to relevant healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
Budget Management:
- Forecasts, develops, manages, and tracks campaign spend, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for maximum ROI.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.

Preferences
- Healthcare knowledge or experience highly preferred in order to adequately analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors.
- Proficiency in digital marketing platforms, analytics tools, customer relationship management (CRM) and content management systems (CMS). Hands-on experience with Hubspot, Salesforce, Acquia, Drupal, Epic Cheers and/or similar CRM or CMS systems highly preferred.
- People management experience oversight, coaching, direction, and day-to-day performance management of one or more direct reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop team members and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required.
