JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Specialist is responsible to facilitate all aspects of the strategic staffing functions of the SOUTHEAST DELCO SCHOOL DISTRICT, including: planning, sourcing, recruiting, selecting, acquiring, deploying, and retaining talent for all SOUTHEAST DELCO SCHOOL DISTRICT programs. Ensure that personnel functions conform to all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate all aspects of the recruitment/employment/hiring process to ensure Southeast Delco School District has programs and procedures that attracts, retains, and motivates all employees. Ensure employment practices are in compliance to organization policy and procedure, state and federal compliance mandates.
- Ensures all professional and applicable administrative staff are properly credentialed with certification, licensure, or endorsement as required by PDE.
- Maintains active and inactive employee personnel and medical records in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Maintains the human resources information system (HRIS) for the purpose of tracking accurate and relevant employee information.
- Coordinates all aspects of and conducts new employee orientation for the purpose of ensuring employees are prepared for their first day of work.
- Provides high quality customer service to both internal and external clients through prompt responsiveness to inquiries, professional and courteous verbal and nonverbal communication, and proactive problem solving.
- Participates in recruitment fairs as approved by the Director.
- Oversees and maintains Job Descriptions.
- Maintains, edits, and makes available appropriate interview questions for all positions.
- Completes and prepares all personnel related reports required by federal, state, or local regulatory agencies.
- Stays current with all employment law including but not limited to the Fair Labor Standards Act, EEOC, ADA, FMLA, HIPAA etc.
- Gathers and/or researches information for special projects, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for implementation to the Human Resources Director.
- Maintains an appropriate relationship with staff members of all departments, provides quality customer service and maintains confidentiality.
- Adheres to the established work schedule through regular and consistent attendance.
- Proactively works as a team member to solve/assist with problems, issues and opportunities.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested by Program Supervisors.
