Summary: The HR Representative will be responsible for daily facilitation of policies and programs covering several or all of the following: recruiting, benefits, training, employee relations, document control, HCM database maintenance and employee change requests while promoting Compass Minerals’ vision, mission and core values. In addition, the Human Resource Representative will partner with the Human Resource Business Partners and HR Leadership Team to support HR strategies, objectives, programs, projects and initiatives.

Essential Job Functions: Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Produce, maintain and update job descriptions.
  • Route requisitions for approval, post and track open positions in Taleo.
  • Manage full cycle recruiting process to meet the various staffing goals across all levels within multiple business units.
  • Manage the on-going processes related to the employment life-cycle
  • Initiate applicant pre-placement screenings i.e. background, drug screening.
  • Pull data required to review and draft offer letters; prepare new hire employee paperwork
  • Maintain EEO applicant flow data; collect job file documentation
  • Develop, plan and help administer new processes and HR department project initiatives by partnering with HR Business Partners.
  • Support the intern program initiatives, program details and success metrics.
  • Analyze success of HR programs including; intern program, new hire orientation, program systems (FMLA, STERLING, E-FILE)
  • Facilitate monthly onboarding of new employees by organizing agenda, topics covered and coordination of speakers.
  • Update new employee data, change requests into HCM system; maintain HCM and applicant databases.
  • Update and print routine database reports or create new requests as needed. Enter transactions into Taleo and HCM systems, including new hires, employee maintenance, transfers, terminations, etc.
  • Respond to employee questions and concerns regarding employee information, policies and procedures and document retrieval while developing positive relationships with our customers.
  • Assist with performance management, payroll inquiries; provide administrative support; ensure compliance with company’s values, policies and procedures.
  • Support the HRBP with administration of training, i.e. compliance, benefits, wellness programs, PDP process, etc.
  • Ensure changes are processed in HCM/Payroll and documentation is correctly filed in employee file. Maintain legal compliance by archiving certain employee documents in separate file cabinets.
  • Prepare and distribute multiple merit spreadsheets.
  • Attend and contribute to a variety of HR meetings: benefits, HCM, new hire orientation, various communication meetings, etc.
  • Create reports on HR related metrics (Labor, Attendance, New Hire, etc…).
  • Tracking for new enrollments/terms/changes.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and requests for information.
  • Administrative support for Educational Assistance claim forms and processing.
  • Assist employees through new automated FMLA process.
  • Participate in wellbeing strategy meetings.
  • Contribute to the success of walking program(s).
  • Coordinate annual data collection of Merit Ratings, AIP.
  • Assist with Data Integrity – ADP.
  • Assist employees in ADP registration.
  • Complete necessary forms (PAF) for updating ADP for terminations, LOA and special bonuses.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience and 0 – 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
