Job Description

Collaborating with all staff and management to ensure that the website aligns with brand strategy and meets the organization’s standards. Creating strategies to grow subscriber base and web traffic metrics. Ensuring full compliance on the website with all laws and regulations. Keeping up-to-date with industry best practices and monitoring competitor websites.

Essential Job Duties

  • Study design briefs and determine requirements
  • Schedule projects and define budget constraints
  • Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
  • Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
  • Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software or by hand
  • Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
  • Work with writers and the communications director to produce final design
  • Test graphics across various media
  • Amend designs after feedback
  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
  • Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading the organization’s website.
  • Responding to and troubleshooting all website issues for CAENS programs.
  • Identifying and responding to all website security breaches.
  • Ensuring that the websites are protected by enabling the appropriate security measures.
  • Updating HTML, CSS and JavaScript regularly.
  • Conducting content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information. Creating appropriate website content aligned with CAENS program objectives.
  • Ensuring website quality and efficiency by conducting regular test plans.
  • Improving the user experience of the website regularly.

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related qualification.
  • Three-years plus of work experience as a website manager and/or graphic designer. Expert knowledge of Macromedia suite, Adobe suite, Content Management Systems, and/or W3C Web standards.

Physical Demands

Skills and Attributes

  • Highly proficient in HTML, XHTML, CSS design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, firewalls (functionality and maintenance), Access, mySQL and JavaScript.
  • Great understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Paid Per Click (PPC).
  • Ability to troubleshoot website issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent content creation and writing skills.
