Central Garden & Pet is looking for a DTC Merchandising Specialist for the Dog & Cat businesses supporting Best Bully Sticks. This role will sit on the E-Commerce and Digital Marketing team reporting into the Digital Marketing Manager, and support Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Website Projects, Email Marketing, & Paid Digital Advertising. Seeking a dog loving DTC Merchandising Specialist who is creative and passionate about creating AMAZING ecommerce experiences. The candidate will be responsible for the tactical day-to-day site merchandising needs of our website. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact on a growing ecommerce website. From tagging and attributing products, to understanding and finding UX solutions, this candidate will have an enthusiastic outlook on direct-to-consumer (DTC) practices. The candidate will have a balance between creative thinking and analytics to support website, product, and UX recommendations. The candidate will have a passion for Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) testing from ideation to execution to increase the business core KPIs. Bonus if the candidate has experience with ecommerce subscription services. As the DTC Merchandising Specialist, you will be a key player in executing eCommerce catalog updates and streamlining the customer experience. This is a cross-functional role, working across multiple channels to develop creative solutions to convert organic traffic into happy customers.
Measures Of Success
- Manage on-site product merchandising to enhance customer experience.
- Assist team in CRO strategy from ideation to execution to increase the business core KPIs.
- Update product catalog and discovery methods (navigation, search, landing pages) to enhance the shopping experience and improve product visibility.
- Monitor website performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize for speed and usability.
- Identify and implement UX solutions to address customer needs and improve the shopping experience.
- Perform copy and content audits, updating all pages to ensure consistency and quality.
- Enhance product assortment and align with marketing calendars, focusing on best-selling items.
- Perform competitive analysis and stay informed on consumer trends related to site functionality and promotions.
- Track e-commerce metrics, including traffic, sales, conversion rates, and customer behavior.
- Develop and implement strategies for product merchandising, cross-selling, and upselling.
- Collaborate with marketing teams, web developers, and designers to implement site enhancements and features.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of product detail pages and site content with promotional calendars across all channels and brands.
- Analyze shopping behavior and explore new methods to drive conversions and optimize product merchandising.
- Monitor inventory status across marketplaces and understand product availability.
- Work with Customer Service and Operations teams to resolve order and customer experience issues.
Ideal Candidate Attributes
- BA/BS in Marketing or related field.
- 2+ years of working on DTC website with focus on CRO, SEO, app management, and content management.
- Shopify experience is a must.
- Hands-on experience of an e-Commerce platform, i.e., Shopify Plus, GA, A/B testing.
- Technical experience with Shopify Plus, Salsify, Site merchandising tools, and subscription business applications.
- Proficiency using the applications within MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills and a service-oriented approach are a must.
- Strong self-direction and initiative; willingness to take complete ownership over specific activities while adapting to quick changing shifts in priorities.
- Eagerness to test and learn, with a willingness to fail, but the drive to succeed.
- Outstanding problem solving and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be agile and adapt while being a team player.
- Ability to thrive in a creative, fast-paced environment that emphasizes excellence and teamwork.
- Self-starting and proactive in conducting comprehensive research and making strategic recommendations to the team.
- Experience with PIM integration, including asset importing, labeling, and tagging.
- Experience with subscription model business.
