Purpose: A Director of Marketing is a director-level position responsible for overseeing and leading the organization’s marketing and communication strategies.

About Us: Harris Ranch Resort, a premier hospitality property located in the heart of the Central Valley, is an oasis where travelers can stop, rest, and enjoy the bounty of the harvest. Harris Ranch Resort has become an internationally known showcase for Harris Ranch Beef™ products, fruits, and vegetables. Dining experiences include the intimate dining of the Prime Steakhouse, the family atmosphere of the Ranch Kitchen, the equestrian history of the Jockey Club, or the casual Horseshoe Lounge. Our 153-room hotel is tastefully designed in an inviting country garden theme and many of the rooms have balconies that overlook the beautifully landscaped courtyard, which features a 25-meter Olympic-style heated pool and three outdoor spas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position along with certain supportive duties. It is not all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and in addition, management, as appropriate, may modify this job description.

  • Maintain a strong and consistent brand identity that aligns with the values and image of the hospitality establishment.
  • Create and execute advertising campaigns to promote the hospitality establishment, its services, and special offers. This includes a customer loyalty program.
  • Utilize a mix of traditional advertising (print, radio, TV) and digital marketing (social media, email marketing, online ads) to reach a diverse audience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including culinary experts and suppliers to develop new products, expand the existing product lines and produce promotional materials.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and consumer preferences, ensuring that our product offerings remain competitive and appealing to our target audience.
  • Manage the product development process from ideation to launch, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to our brand’s identity.
  • Ensure that all product labels and packaging materials comply with relevant regulations, including USDA and FDA guidelines.
  • Oversee the accurate and proper labeling of products, including nutrition facts, ingredient lists, and allergen statements, per legal requirements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date ingredient index for all products, ensuring accurate listing and proper formatting.
  • Stay updated on changes in food labeling and packaging regulations, including any updates from USDA and FDA, and ensure our products remain compliant.
  • Collaborate with legal and regulatory experts to address any compliance-related issues and implement necessary changes.
  • Together with the sales department, responsible for planning and executing special events and promotions to attract and retain customers.
  • Collaborate and distribute communication to convey important updates, news, and announcements to employees. This includes company-wide news, policy changes, upcoming events, and achievements.
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively to achieve marketing goals while monitoring ROI.
  • Responsible for website design, oversight, and update as needed.
  • Assist with marketing needs for other Harris Farms Inc. divisions.
  • Provide marketing leadership, in partnership with the Harris BBQ General Manager, for Harris BBQ locations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for different audiences.
  • Proficiency in analyzing data and using insights to inform marketing strategies.
  • The ability to think strategically and align marketing and communication efforts with overall business objectives.
  • The marketing landscape is dynamic; the Director should be adaptable and open to incorporating new trends and technologies into strategies.
  • Familiarity with the industry or market in which the organization operates.
  • The position requires excellent communication skills; both written and verbal, leadership / organizational ability, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing and communications roles, with a proven track record of successful campaigns and strategic leadership (required)
  • Hospitality experience is a plus but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing preferred.

Physical Requirements: This position works in an office environment with occasional travel required. The physical work environment includes spending a significant portion of the workday at a desk. This entails the ability to sit for extended periods while utilizing a computer and various office tools. Proficient dexterity is essential, encompassing use of the hands and fingers for tasks such as typing, handling paperwork, and operating office equipment. Strong visual acuity is required to read and interpret information from computer screens, documents, and written materials. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for interactions with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders. The role may involve occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
