Locale is building the next generation aparthotel brand for the modern traveler. Our apartment-style accommodations combine the best of hotel services and residential living in amazing urban locations. From virtual check-in and text-first service to thoughtful design and generous amenities, we deliver a tech-enabled hospitality experience that our guests love. Founded in 2016, we’ve had over 200,000 nights booked on our platform, and we’re growing rapidly. Our pipeline of new projects will triple our portfolio by the second half of 2024.

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Director of Marketing to lead our Marketing team. You’ll report to the CEO and work closely with other department leads to define, launch, and execute our marketing strategy. You’ll focus on refining our messaging and positioning, increasing brand awareness, creating guest loyalty, driving guests to book via our website, and supporting our B2C and B2B sales teams. While we’ve made a lot of progress these past few years, this is still a ‘build’ role that will require you to move fast and create assets and processes from the ground up.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and manage omni-channel campaigns to drive awareness & revenue
  • Create and manage content for our website, social platforms, email, and collateral
  • Centralize assets and ensure brand consistency across all customer touchpoints
  • Ensure we always use clear, intelligent copy with a distinct voice
  • Own our messaging throughout the customer journey (e.g. arrival emails, check-in texts)
  • Monitor and improve growth metrics like web traffic and social engagement
  • Manage our marketing budget and allocate resources effectively
  • Stay on top of industry trends and competitor best practices
  • Manage a team of freelancers and agencies, eventually building your own team

  • Meaningful increase in customers booking directly at locale.com
  • Unified brand presence across web, social, and our in-room experience
  • Developed SOPs for fast content creation and updates to keep pace with our growth
  • Email campaigns that run like clockwork and drive revenue
  • Tripled our social following and engagement

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum 5 years of generalist marketing experience in D2C environments
  • A compelling track record / portfolio that demonstrates a range of capabilities
  • A strong understanding of consumer messaging and positioning
  • Excellent communication skills, especially written
  • A keen eye for design and branding
  • A passion for systems and tools to manage projects effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
