As the Assistant Manager of Email Marketing, you will be part of a broader cross-functional team to drive email strategy with the ultimate goal of optimizing performance and delivering topline brand goals.

Assistant Manager, Email Marketing Position Summary

You will contribute to the development, execution, and evaluation of email marketing campaigns and brand strategy to drive profitable sales, build our customer file, and support growth and brand initiatives for West Elm. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including eCommerce, Merchandising, Creative, and most closely with the CRM team. Ability to adapt to change, thrive in ambiguity and work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing multi-channel retail environment is a must. Essential Functions

  • Manage the planning, development, and execution of email marketing programs including broadly circulated brand and product messages, targeted campaigns based on customer segmentation, and triggered campaigns based on cross-channel customer behavior
  • Maintain key cross functional relationships with counterparts on other digital and marketing teams – working most closely with CRM, ecommerce, and creative design + services
  • Write effective creative briefs that include campaign objectives and strategic messaging in line with brand goals and initiatives
  • Own the email calendar, and assist in reporting, testing strategy, and operational details, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of the job
  • Analyze and communicate results including key performance metrics on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. Apply learnings to future campaigns to improve results
  • Partner with peers on other WSI brands to share best practices in order to accelerate innovation. Coordinate cross-brand reporting and collaborate on key initiatives
  • Provide support in preparation of seasonal and/or monthly presentations to brand partners
  • Analyze competitive marketplace and stay abreast of email industry trends

Criteria

  • Minimum of 3-4+ years’ experience in email marketing, retail and product marketing strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Passionate about direct and brand marketing; deep understanding of online consumer behavior. Interest in home goods and/or retail strongly preferred.
  • Analytical, proactive, problem-solver with an insatiable curiosity
  • Able to see trends and to extract actionable insights from data to drive results
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with excellent people and time-management skills
  • Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills a must
  • Ability to perform work onsite in the Brooklyn corporate office full-time.

The expected starting pay range for this position is $60,000 – $75,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
