Join our team as an Affiliate Marketing Specialist and help us take the Barnes & Noble and Paper Source affiliate marketing programs to new heights! We’re on a mission to expand our network and collaborate with fellow book lovers, authors, crafters, DIY enthusiasts, party planners, and anyone who shares a deep connection with our brands. Our ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience in affiliate marketing, a passion for books and/or crafting, strong organization and communication skills, and is a team-player. As an Affiliate Marketing Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our program’s success by researching and onboarding new affiliate partners, developing strategies to improve channel revenue and profitability, adjusting strategies to hit business goals, and maintaining the affiliate budget.
An employee in this position can expect an annual starting rate between $58,500-$65,000 depending on experience, seniority, geographic, locations and other factors permitted by law.
WhatYouDo:
- Assist in the day-to-day account management and execution of the affiliate program for Barnes & Noble, Paper Source, and SparkNotes.
- Research and onboard new affiliate partners to scale our program with a focus on content publishers and influencers.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive engagement and sales for the brands with a focus on profitability.
- Have a strong understanding of our product catalog and categories that are relevant for article inclusion.
- Work closely with the category management and merchandising teams to align product and promotion opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with agencies, top affiliates, and other partners by communicating business and brand priorities & updates, sharing the promotional calendar, & negotiating strong partnership terms
- Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly affiliate performance reports and adjust strategies to hit business goals and channel KPIs.
- Maintain affiliate budget inclusive of commissions, placement fees, CPA rates and bonuses while making recommendations based on performance expectations.
Knowledge&Experience:
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building skills, problem-solving skills, and strong negotiation skills
- A highly motivated self-starter with an ability to learn quickly
- A passion for books & reading
- A positive, personable, can-do personality who can be flexible and is team-oriented
- Position can be remote (residing anywhere in the US and currently authorized to work in the US) OR Hybrid with days in our NYC office.
- 2-3 years of relevant affiliate marketing experience, preferably in retail
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field
- Familiarity with affiliate marketing software and tracking tools (e.g. CJ, Impact, etc.)
