The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Communications & Marketing to support a busy, fast-paced communications and marketing team supporting Wistar’s global communications and marketing strategy, with an emphasis on web, social media, broadcast, and print.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Own and update editorial calendars for media and advertising Manage
- Posting all social media content on departments social media calendar platform
- Update Wistar web content through relevant content management system
- Support media outreach with media research and data entry
- Manage vendor payments.
- Provide administrative and project support for a variety of marketing initiatives.
- Support the marketing team with planning, implementing, and monitoring marketing campaigns.
- Manage Airtable to ensure it is updated and reflects all due dates
- Organize and maintain the department’s shared drive to ensure content and finalized projects are easily accessible.
- Maintain the department’s promotional item inventory
- Other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with preference for a 4-year accredited college or university. High school degree required; preference for a 2-to-4-year degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience Preferred: A minimum of years 1-to-3 years’ experience in administration, communications, marketing; client relations management, service industry or customer relations.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or other Qualifications:
- Proficient in social media tools and platforms
- Demonstrated ability to work in WordPress content management systems.
- Exceptional proofreading skills.
- Detail and deadline oriented.
- Ability to work independently and knows when to seek guidance and direction on next steps with a project
- Practices the core values of teamwork and collaboration while also being able to problem-solve independently.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, faculty, and vendors.
- Demonstrates strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and navigate a complex work environment.
- Outstanding client service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prudently manage enterprise resources.
- Impeccable personal integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.
