We are looking for someone that will lead all key workstreams within the brand strategy and lifecycle marketing planning. This will be for a subset of CBS series and programs (including Studio programs) as part of a cross-functional planning team. This includes developing strategic, highly creative and effective 360 campaigns to drive awareness and tune-in for entertainment properties, as well as working with third party partners to represent studios series’ marketing plans for other platforms.
The Marketing Strategist will gather appropriate data and customer insights to develop, produce, implement and measure strategies and plans with mass-media, social media, promotional activities and other tactics that effectively align to the target audience(s) and campaign objectives as set by the cross-functional team. This role will also work with internal teams and external partners, including our media agency and other out-of-house agencies and third-party distributors where applicable, to develop and implement engaging, innovative and strategic marketing and content plans that help drive viewership of our entertainment content.

Role And Responsibilities
- Work with integrated planning teams to build and implement brand, acquisition, content, and engagement campaigns for a subset of CBS series and specials and studios’ programs
- Set clear objectives, identify audience targets, develop positioning statements, collaborate on creative thought-starters, and lead development of 360 media and campaign plans
- Gather, analyze and apply customer insights and data in collaboration with research team and planning team to help define effective and innovative strategic marketing and media approaches. Work with research and data science teams to analyze and translate multi-touch attribution insights into optimized media plans
- Find ways to use media outlets, opportunities, and content to deepen our relationship with our audiences. As well as drive tune-in and engagement, grow our digital/social channel footprint, and leverage all organic marketing efforts to reach our customers in significant and engaging ways
- Act as a “motivator” who brings big ideas and encourages others to deliver outstanding ideas, obtaining agreement and effectively and efficiently implement ideas at scale
- Create and own goals and performance metrics for campaigns frequently measuring outputs against internal and external efforts; monitor regularly to understand efficiency of strategy, creative and media tactics, making recommendations for continuous improvement
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional marketing teams and Cross-Paramount Business Units to ensure strategic alignment, build master campaign plans, and implement cross-promotional opportunities
- In partnership with the SVP Media and Director of Media Operations, effectively handle campaign media budgets against all efforts. This includes approvals and tracking of Media Authorizations and tracking/reconciliation of planned-to-actual spend.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in film, TV and/or affiliate marketing
- Marketing team experience with a major studio, media company, streaming service, brand and/or marketing agency, consumer marketing, marketing communications and/or digital/high-technology consumer companies/products
- Experience leading the creative, strategic and media planning process
- Deep understanding of how to use media to drive awareness and engagement with entertainment content including an understanding of digital landscape and creative standard processes for all media
- Experience working with Creative Execs, including relationship management, selling through of strategy, creative and marketing plans
- Highly data-driven, possessing strong ability gather and apply insights to frame recommendations and results into concise and actionable reports
- Ability to develop forward-thinking ideas for a wide range of entertainment campaigns, crafted to drive customer acquisition/retention as we deepen engagement with the CBS brand
- Understanding of traditional and digital entertainment marketing, including on-air, display, print, OOH, paid social, performance and digital media channels

Additional Information
Hiring Salary Range: $85,600.00 – 107,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
