OpticsPlanet, Inc. is looking for a sharp, detail-oriented contractor to support our Growth Marketing team efforts as an entry-level Marketing Associate, and help us present engaging, high-performing campaigns to our loyal customers. This is a contract role 40 hour/week opportunity for 3-months with a potential opportunity to extend beyond that. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of promotions targeted at hunting, firearm enthusiasts, the outdoors, camping, fishing, and more! With the diverse selection of products we offer, that breadth means your efforts to publicize offers and engage with our customer base will be critical to boosting sales performance of targeted categories and brands.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize engaging marketing campaigns to drive customer engagement, retention, and conversion
  • Write copy and specifications for designers, SMS, and push campaigns
  • Test emails, SMS, and push for compatibility with various email clients, web browsers, and devices
  • Work closely with developers to ensure a smooth customer journey
  • Report on key performance indicators and analyzes results for lessons learned
  • Utilize tools, reports, and other data to identify promotional opportunities for our extensive product selection
  • Identify sales trends for specific categories and products, and determines the best time to promote to maximize performance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across the company to align, develop, and implement long and short-term initiatives
  • Run Microsoft Excel reporting, interpret the data, make recommendations, and share analysis within the team
  • Evaluate and track competitor promotional campaigns.
  • Support other team members in various special assignments
  • Implement and execute other tasks as assigned

Qualifications, Skills, And Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably with an emphasis in Marketing, Business, Communications, Economics or related fields
  • Experience and passion for firearms, recreational/competitive shooting, hunting, camping, or other activities required
  • Prior work experience in Digital Marketing, preferably in ecommerce (internships count!), a plus
  • Experience with Email Marketing, SMS/MMS, App, and/or Push Notifications strongly preferred
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple campaigns running at the same time and adhering to completion target dates
  • Experience with Google Analytics, JIRA, Monday.com, and/or Attentive, a plus
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment
  • Proficient in working with Microsoft Excel and ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets (I.e. formulas, pivot tables)
  • Self-starter, desire to learn, contribute, and be accountable
  • Skilled in writing and editing content, with a strong attention to detail, and grammatical skills
  • Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills
