This position is a marketing-oriented Assistant Product Manager who is responsible for developing marketing strategies as it pertains to videography and photography. Further responsibilities include but are not limited to: the development, management and execution of marketing programs and strategies designed to grow sales in Nikon’s imaging business including mirrorless cameras, lenses, accessories and software. Furthermore, the position will bring new products to market, develop messaging, create selling tools, support seasonal promo activity, participate in trade show and industry events, measure and analyze competitive threats and support all aspects of marketing in the category. Keep management apprised of ongoing activities, projects and any issues that may arise.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
§ Responsible for managing the marketing aspects of videography and photography products during pre-launch, launch and EOL activities, actively communicating and coordinating with all constituents.
§ Develop product messaging, copy and positioning statements for launch materials, website, advertisements, retailer materials and event creative.
§ Play a vital role in cross-functional team initiatives to carry out go-to-market plans for launches.
§ Prepare and deliver presentations to executives, colleagues, vendors and customers.
§ Drive the execution of marketing and promotional activities.
§ Provide input in goal and objective setting for products and category portfolios.
§ Coordinate the development of promotional kits and special packaging with Sales and Operations personnel.
§ Develop retailer specific creative assets and POP display items as needed.
§ Track promotional success via sell thru information and promotional expenses to understand promotional ROI.
§ Spearhead and support market research efforts in order to bring new knowledge to the teams about our customers, product usage, market needs and industry trends.
§ Develop and maintain relationships with industry-specific analysts and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and professional photographers to understand needs, maximize market preparedness for new product launches, and effective capture of post market feedback.
§ Participate in trade shows and other industry events.
§ Travel up to 20% of the time, both day and overnight trips (may include international)
§ Work beyond the normal hours of operation when required to do so.

QUALIFICATIONS:
§ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
§ Strong product and content Marketing background
§ Passionate and knowledgeable about videography and photography and an eagerness to learn at a technical level.
§ Ability to write marketing copy, develop messaging and position products.
§ Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
§ Ability to communicate clear direction to cross-functional teams.
§ Ability to build and deliver effective presentations.
§ Ability to recognize market needs as it relates to the overall goals of the business.
§ Results and deadline driven with an ability to execute. Willing to go the extra mile and do what it takes to execute on deadlines in a timely manner.
§ Proficient with PowerPoint. Comfortable working in Excel.
§ Strong ability to manage multiple projects with time constraint deadlines.
§ Ability to travel up to 20% (includes overnight travel).
§ Ability to work outside of regularly scheduled work hours as needed in order to fulfill duties.
§ A basic familiarity of camera technology.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
§ Minimum 4+ years marketing experience and preferably 2+ years of product management experience
§ Experience working with technical products a plus.
§ B.A. Marketing and/or Business required
§ MBA Marketing or equivalent preferred but not required
